COATSOME MC-6081 (POPC), or 1-Palmitoyl-2-oleoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphocholine, is a ≥99% pure synthetic phospholipid. Featuring a C16:0 fatty acid (16 carbon atoms, no double bonds, palmitic acid) at the sn-1 position and a C18:1 fatty acid (18 carbon atoms, 1 double bond, oleic acid) at the sn-2 position, POPC provides a balanced membrane profile combining moderate rigidity with high fluidity, making it suitable for liposomal and lipid nanoparticle (LNP) formulations.
With a phase transition temperature (Tc) of approximately -3°C, POPC remains in a fluid phase across physiological and ambient temperatures, supporting the development of stable and dynamic drug delivery systems. Manufactured using highly purified fatty acids, MC-6081 offers consistent quality for pharmaceutical research and clinical applications.
