COATSOME MC-6040 (PMPC), or 1-Palmitoyl-2-myristoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphocholine, is a ≥99% pure synthetic phospholipid. Composed of a C16:0 fatty acid (16 carbon atoms, no double bonds, palmitic acid) at the sn-1 position and a C14:0 fatty acid (14 carbon atoms, no double bonds, myristic acid) at the sn-2 position, PMPC features an asymmetric lipid structure that provides a fine balance between membrane rigidity and fluidity, making it suitable for advanced liposomal and lipid nanoparticle (LNP) formulations.
With a phase transition temperature (Tc) of approximately 28°C, PMPC supports membrane flexibility close to physiological conditions. Manufactured using highly purified fatty acids, MC-6040 offers consistent quality for pharmaceutical research and clinical applications.
