PTE-100NB2 is a 4-arm PEG derivative with a total molecular weight of 10 kDa (approximately 2.5 kDa per PEG arm), featuring norbornene groups at each arm terminus. The norbornene groups can readily undergo highly efficient biorthogonal reactions with hydroximoyl chloride or tetrazine groups, enabling covalent bond formation under mild conditions. In addition, the norbornene groups can also react with thiol groups in the presence of a photoinitiator and light. The multi-arm structure and norbornene groups make PTE-100NB2 particularly suitable for hydrogel formation, and other biomedical applications requiring precise and highly biorthogonal network construction.
