PTE-100HM is a 4-arm PEG derivative with a total molecular weight of 10 kDa (approximately 2.5 kDa per PEG arm), functionalized with hydroximoyl chloride groups at each arm terminus. The hydroximoyl chloride groups readily generate highly reactive nitrile oxide intermediates, which undergo rapid and selective cycloaddition reactions with strained alkenes such as norbornenes or alkynes under mild conditions. This bioorthogonal click reaction enables efficient covalent bond formation without interfering with native biological functionalities. The multi-arm structure and hydroximoyl chloride groups make PTE-100HM particularly suitablefor hydrogel formation, and other biomedical applications requiring precise and highly bioorthogonal network construction.
